I think i’m going to order a Gymboss timer from them today…and a 16k kettlebell is calling my name…
For those of you who aren’t familiar with ’em, Perform Better is a great company. I order almost all of my equipment from them. They have great sales, prompt service, and are quick to answer questions. Also, if anything you order is on backorder, they will let you know and will not charge your account until the item ships. Great company!
If you are wanting to order a kettlebell but are unsure of which size to start with, here’s my $0.02:
Most women will be able to build a solid foundation and be able to comfortably perform the major movements (swing, clean, sumo deadlift, windmill, tgu, snatch) with an 8k kettlebell. I currently own 4k, 8k, and 12k…and just ordered a 16k. 🙂 I have found that most women are more comfortable getting used to the snatch movement with the baby 4k. It’s also good for russian twists, hot potato, lunges, etc. You will be amazed at how fast your conditioning improves with kettlebell training! Your strength will also improve tremendously, and it doesn’t require hours upon hours of workouts each week! So, if you’re wanting to get started with one kettlebell, i’d go with the 8k.
For guys, i’d recommend starting with a 16k kettlebell. Same thing here – you’re gonna notice your strength goin’ through the roof in record time, as well as your conditioning. 16k is a good starting weight for most of the major lifts.
